Lunch on a weekday. I chose the Eel bento box, pretty standard fare. Staff are friendly and service is good when I was there. The eel should be firm and flavoursome and the accompaniments (for $18) should be well presented and tasty. The eel was sloppy in texture and tasted more like herring than eel to me. It was a bit hard to tell though over the sauce that was thin and tasted mostly of tomato. The Miso was white and a bit lacking in flavor for my taste. Rice was well done and plenty of it. The salad was dismal (fresh but dismal in variety, flavour and presentation) and the condiments were lacking. Overall not somewhere I'll give a second chance to.

Authentic, traditional, quick. Some of the best Japanese in Perth. Some of the staff can be a bit rude sometimes but the service is quick and the food is good.
