Just had to have our cat put to sleep. She was nearly 19 and part of the family. The young nurse and vet who attended us today ( Sunday 23/7/17) were so beautiful and caring, it was as if they were looking after their own pet. Thank you.

I had to have my cat put to sleep on Saturday night just gone. It was an awful stressful time but they were very helpful and understanding and made the process as smooth and easy as anyone possibly could. Their receptionist was amazing and I am so grateful to her for her help and support😘

They only care about money. The staff are young and look fresh out of uni. Inexperienced, and don't know the difference between pneumonia and aspirating food pellets. The hint is our animal was fine, running around, eating, then started choking and gasping for air. Nasal discharge was mixed with food. Vet refered to this as "green stuff".
We were not allowed into the exam room which put extra stress on out pet as she only trusts us to touch her.

Our pet drowned in her own aspirated mucus 3 hours after arrival.

We would have been much better off keeping her at home trying to keep her calm and encouraging her to cough up the fluid.

If you are going to charge more than tripple for a small animal, I expect you to be an expert in its care.
At the end of the night they handed us our dead pet and told us we could come back tommorrow to pay the other $200......on top of the $800 they demanded before they would even "treat" her.

If this happened through the day and we took her to our usual vet she would still be alive.

This isn't a 'heat of the moment review'. A few weeks have past.

Absolutely pitiful! $300 and over 3 hours of a vet coming in and out, not really bothering to pay attention and for what? To tell us our animal was unwell but she had no idea why.
Oh but for another $1500 she could maybe find out.
These people dont give a **** for your animals they care about their pockets, nothing more.
Go ANYWHERE else but dont waste your money on these fools.

Further to this review. We have now had the opportunity to have our regular vet check out our animal. Seems they were able to diagnose the problem within 20 mins (Remember we were at AR&E Centre for 3 hours) and the overall cost will not exceed a third of what these guys wanted without knowing what was wrong.
Look the bottom line here is if you have no other option then this emergency centre is better than nothing at all but be prepared to spend far more than what is legitimate or necessary and be aware these people will use your emotional state as leverage to milk you of funds most of us don't have nowadays. We love our pets but there is no reason to overpay to get inferior service. Take your pets to a vet that CARES about the animal not the profit!

We have had a number of emergency visits here and the staff have always been attentive, sensitive and helpful. Glad they are there to help when you need them.
