Great views, amenities, old fashioned take away run by the surf club, and recently-added historical monuments and features. Almost always the safest beach in Newcastle, best for kids.

Beautiful beach. Right next to the lighthouse. Great walking tracks around it.

Used to come here all the time for a dip. Lovely views and atmosphere. Perfect place to go on a date in Newcastle!

One of my favourite places. Near low tide or when the swell is very small, take your kids snorkelling in the rock pool at the start of the beach (Ocean Baths end). Even better is to jump on your bike in Islington park and ride to Nobbies, have a swim and lunch / picnic / ice cream, then ride back. Best day ever.
