I needed to source a rare architectural book in a tight time frame. Rohan specially posted it that afternoon, and upon receipt the book had also been covered in plastic. Such great service.

I keep going back to Metropolis. I like the look, feel and overall quality of the bookshop. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly.
It is not necessarily the best bookstore to buy popular fiction but a gem of a bookstore for all of us that love a books.

Hidden from street-view, at the top of an old and graffiti ridden staircase is the most wonderful bookshop you will find in Melbourne! They carry tomes that are otherwise impossible to attain on-line (without being extorted by shipping prices) and are conveniently located in the cbd.
The staff are very polite and helpful. Once your preferences are known to them they can give marvellous recommendations and order in any books that are not presently gracing their shelves.
A must-visit for any bibliophile!
