Pooch park was recently tended to by the council. (October 2017) I was hoping they would perhaps make the ground a bit better... It's bark chips on dirt, with a cemented circular path with sand in the middle. Ie. Very dry in summer and can tend to get a bit muddy in winter. Some grass would be lovely! But I do appreciate the expense of that! (That's why only 4 stars)... the dogs don't really care!
Was great to see it is maintained. Although, it doesn't take long to get messy again. They provide poop bags and have the obligatory double gates to enter... without having to lift up the locking mechanism some parks have.
It's still a fabulous and safe place to take your dog for a play and socialise off lead. Lots of shady trees around the perimeter, & it backs onto linear pk track.
There's a water bowl fountain on the northern path which is great... some dog parks have them right at the entrance making it muddy where u walk in!
There's a shady picnic aluminium table undercover, & a couple of other benches to sit on in sunny spots.
They've got some fun obstacle course type inclusions to challenge your pups if they like, too.
