Normally really good but the room I had this time wasn't as nice. The bed was quite uncomfortable compared to other rooms I've had. Generally a nice place to stay but more facilities like a spa and gym would be good.

Location isn't great without a car or to walk to things in the city. Rooms probably due for a make over in my opinion. Curtains have holes in them and let a lot of light in and air con blows straight onto a bed with no chance to divert.

We attended the Sage as part of a larger event but did not stay in house (only ate food from the dining room).
The food was of reasonable quality and portion sizes were ok, albeit more basic traditional pub fare than hotel or gastro pub style. They menu could use an update with a more modern style, bit otherwise it's fairly well executed.
Service was generally pretty good too.

Stayed in one of Executive Suites.... but the room was not clean. Wardrobes had dust and looks like it wasn't cleaned for years. There were no cups in pantry and again it was dirty (dust).
Reception & Staff were great. Breakfast was good and food at resturant was great.

Having never heard of the sage before, I was expecting a lot less than I got. Complimentary parking pass supplied at check in. Tastefully decorated and furnished through the whole building. Reception staff nothing but polite and helpful. High quality, sturdy, comfortable furniture. Only complaints were that the room was quite dark, and the house keeping staff removed my coke bottle from the refrigerator.
